Amnesty in your language?
If you are interested in localizing Amnesty products for your native or fluent language, please .
1. I cut and pasted HTML from a web widget not listed in the Generator menu and nothing autofilled. Am I out of luck?
Not at all. The autofill capabilities of Amnesty Generator are only meant as a convenience. Similarly, the sites listed in the Generator menu are only sites for which we have programmed an autofill routine. You can actually enter any HTML you want. As long as you fill out the required fields, you should be able to embed that HTML into a new Dashboard widget.
Hint: If you aren't familiar with how widgets work, the Identifier field might be tricky to figure out: you can actually enter anything unique, but the standard format is:topLevelDomain.Domain.widget.widgetName
for example:com.apple.widget.stocks
2. I know of a web widget site that you don't have listed in the Generator menu. Would you consider adding it?
Absolutely. We'd like to add support for as many web widget sites as possible. Please a short description and a link to the site. If we can write an autofill routine for it, we'll include support for the site in our next build.
3. When I first clicked Sign In in my Google Talk widget, a window opened in Safari where I signed in successfully. Now, every time I go back and click Sign In in my widget it just keeps opening a window in Safari. How do I get this widget to work?
As you noticed, in order for the Google Talk widget to sign in, it first opens a window in Safari where you need to sign in. When you do this, make sure that you check Remember me on this computer on the sign in page. That way, Google will allow the widget to log in straight from Dashboard next time you click Sign In in your Google Talk widget.
